Kevin and I have talked about how we should immortalize her after she's gone, since she is such a unique animal. He wanted to have her stuffed (um, ew), and there was talk about a bronze statue (also his idea), but we settled on having a painting commissioned.
I met Pueblo artist Anthony Pachak at the Pikes Peak Arts Fest over 4th of July weekend... he does good work and his pricing is actually pretty reasonable. Then it was up to us to choose a photo for him to work from, something that really captured the true Sasha.
After sifting through 14 years of photos (my dad calls her the most photographed dog in the world), we settled on this photo taken by our engagement photographer, Elya Janae Martino. We thought this photo was so funny... Beware of the cute, smiling, happy dog! It's kind of an oxymoron.... or is it?
But as much trouble as she is (and it's been A LOT), she's like my child... I can't help but love her dearly and I'll miss her terribly when she's gone. Thanks to Tony for capturing her spirit so she can live with us forever...
