Anyway, the good news is that after we went to Home Depot and got an estimate for re-carpeting half the house (at a tune of about $7000, mind you), Kevin made the discovery that the carpet in the entire upstairs is actually fairly new and in good shape, unlike the carpet downstairs. Which means that we only need one room carpeted, and we'll save a ton of money! Now onto getting the estimate for the wood floors to be put in, and for getting the existing wood floors refinished to match.
We spent our New Years Eve over at Kevin's friend Craig's house, he lives just a couple minutes away from the new house, for now. They rent an absolutely gorgeous house in our neighborhood, but he is looking for a job so they may end up moving to Denver or Boulder. His wife served enchiladas and beans that she bought already prepared at a little family-run place in Monument called Taste of Life. They sell all-natural foods and prepared meals made with those foods, and based on what we ate last night, we are looking forward to becoming one of their newest customers!
