So, here are some pics of how the dining room is looking now. They're a little yellow, but post-processing color correction was not going well, so bear with me.
This is what it looks like from the front door. Our friend Julio calls it "The Board Room" because of our excessively long table. We bought it at the Amish Showcase when they were going out of business. It has 4 leaves, so it can be made smaller, but we were told that if you store the leaves away in the dark then the wood will age differently in color, and when you put the leaves back in, they will be a different color. So, we decided to leave all of them in and take them out when needed so the table fits the number of guests.
This is a view from the other end of the room, back toward the front door. I got the curtains at Hancock Fabrics... a spectacular find thanks to our friend Sarah who tipped me off. Do you know how hard it is to find true red (not burgundy) curtains??
You get a better view of the chandelier here... it has tiny gold leaves on it. The curtain rod also has leaves it, but I forgot to take a picture of that.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
